Balagam is set in a village in Telangana and it revolves around the after effects on a family and its relations, both with the village folks and among themselves, after the jovial patriarch of the family suddenly passes away.

In the year 1996, the entire nation was politically facing a serious issue. In addition, the country was suffering from another dangerous problem. In this scenario, a Government Employee took up the responsibility.

Two mischievous middle-aged friends regularly stir up trouble in their village, causing chaos. A police constable tries to keep their antics under control.

A 70 year old widower asks his son to buy him a toothbrush for his toothache. When the son fails to do this simple errand, their already strained father-son relationship becomes comically worse through a series of escalating events.
